An calls a client on a Friday afternoon: "We're fully behind this record. I'm taking it to the priority meeting on Monday." The client comes off the phone feeling great. What they do not yet know (and what you can see coming) is that the A&R may not even be in that Monday meeting, and even if they are, they do not control the budget.
