Narrative
One person calls it "producing". The other calls it "their song". Only one is legally right.
Take a common collaboration: a beatmaker and a topline writer working together for three months. The beatmaker sends beats; the writer adds lyrics, melodies, the hooks. Five tracks are finished, two of them genuinely good.
Is the beatmaker just producing, or a co-author of the songs? The difference is worth real money, and which one is legally correct depends entirely on what the beatmaker contributed to the composition.
